Bharatnatyam

Bharatanatyam is a major form of Indian classical dance that originated in South India. Bharatanatyam is the oldest classical dance tradition in India. The dance form originated in ancient Tamil Nadu, and several books have codified it, such as the Natya Shastra by Bharata muni (Sanskrit:भरत मुनि).

Guru Deepak Mazumdar

Performer, teacher, and choreographer, these are the three attributes that describe Deepak Mazumdar. He is a  the dedicated master performer and one of the most respected names in the classical dance scene for more than three decades.A 'top' grade artiste of Doordarshan, Deepakji has carved out a special niche in the world of Indian classical dance and has created an everlasting impression by his prowess in 'Abhinaya'. He is the first male to receive his Masters of Fine Arts in Bharatanatyam with flying colors from the University of Mumbai. He is also the recipient of many awards including, but not limited to:

  • The National Scholarship of Dance

  • Senior Fellow Posting, at the Ministry of Culture for the Govt of India

  • The Sangeet Natak Academy Award

Guru Rama Vaidyanathan

Rama Vaidyanathan has trained intensively under the legendary dancer Yamini Krishnamurthy and the renowned Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan. Everyone who has seen Rama perform is struck by her unique thought process and fresh approach to dance. While deeply rooted in tradition, she has evolved her own individual style without forsaking the core principles of the dance form. She brings to her dance a rare sense of devotion and dedication, which leaves the audience with a sense of spiritual fulfillment. 

Smt Rama Vaidyanathan is the recipient of many awards which include : 

  • The Sangeet Natak Academy Award

  • the Nrithya Choodamani award 

  • And the KALAI MAAMANI award to name a few
